Ashton at 2 Months
Well, time just flies when you are having fun and Ashton is already 2 1/2 months old.
Ashton just loves falling asleep in my lap like this while I read the Twilight series.
Travis couldn't resist snapping this shot while Ashton was in his "ninja" pose.
Ashton smiled big while Great Grandma G was holding him. He loves her so much.

Ashton's 1st Plane Ride - El Paso
We just got back from visiting Ashton's Great-Grandma in El Paso. It was his first plane ride and he did really well. He got several compliments from flight attendants and other passengers for being a "good baby."
"Baggage Claim"
Meemaw took us to the El Paso Rose Garden. It was absolutely beautiful, even though they were in the process of pruning them. After seeing all of the gorgeous roses, I can no longer deprive myself from having them in my own garden. Right now, I am trying to devise a way to grow some roses without having the deer destroy them....

Ashton's Blessing
Wow. What a week. At least the weekend is almost here. I have been so busy that I am just now posting the photos from last weekend. Ashton was blessed on Sunday and we had some family in town for the weekend. Fun times!!
Saturday, I finally got to go to the range. My target was the guy with the mullet, and I actually was able to hit him. It was pure luck, I am sure, but I was pleased with my results.

Enough is Enough
It's 7:45 p.m. and Ashton has successfully pooped all over me , the changing pad, the bedding, and the crib railing, which has dripped onto the new carpet. As I vigorously scrub the carpet with baby wipes and run to the kitchen for the pet stain carpet cleaner, he manages to pull a large clump of his hair, sending him into a panic and further tightening his grip on his hair. I run to the bathroom to wash the cleaner off my hands as he shrieks in pain. Finally, I manage to calm him down enough to release his hair. At this point I've had it, and had to blog about it in order to relieve some stress, while he cries safely in his swing.
Some pics of Ashton at 1 month:
Ashton with the doctor who delivered him. We missed this shot in the delivery room because the doctor had to assist with a C-Section immediately following Ashton's delivery.

New Mom
I guess you could say that I am getting used to being a new mom. I have finally acclimated myself to survive sleepless nights, uncontrollable crying fits, and getting peed on occassionally. Although these things may not sound like a lot of fun, I really am enjoying motherhood and every single blessing that comes with it.
This past Saturday, Ashton turned 3 weeks old. It was the first time that I actually noticed that he had grown. He no longer fits in the smallest of his newborn clothes. :( Sad face.
This is Ashton on our first trip to the Home Depot. He was in awe the entire time we were there. It figures - Travis and I met at the Home Depot and I went into labor with Ashton while there.
Aunt Pennie and cousins Trey and Trent come to visit Ashton.
The umbilical stump finally fell off at 21 days.
Ashton loves, loves, loves his sling. He will look up at me for the longest time; and when he gets tired of that, he looks out over the edge until he falls asleep. I like how his little hand grabs the edge. hehe. We love going on evening walks together.

More Baby Pics
Now we are among the group of parents that take a million pictures of their kids and think each photo of them looks different, when in reality, they look exactly the same to everyone else. haha.

Full-Term, Baby!!!
Yes! This Saturday I finally reached 37 weeks. It honestly doesn't seem like it has been that long; and at the same time, it feels like I have so long to go. Let's just say that I am ready to have this baby. Things are really starting to get uncomfortable - especially the swollen ankles...they feel so yucky when I walk. Travis has even adopted a new nickname for me - Cankles.
Some other highlights of the day:
Trav's aunt and uncle were visiting for part of the weekend. I think this could be my favorite preggo picture.
I couldn't resist stopping to appreciate the beautiful and vibrant flowers on the temple grounds.
Saturday night I got to meet up with an old friend from the Home Depot days.
